The TOC-780 is a high-sensitivity, automatic TOC analyzer which quickly and accurately measures the total organic carbon content of pure water, and water from rivers and other sources, in either online or offline mode.
This system is designed to achieve superior operability and save space, based on the previous TOC-700 Series which achieved high-speed response (90% response within five minutes) by employing a continuous measurement system developed using Toray Engineering’s proprietary technology.

Principle of Measurement

After inorganic carbon is removed from sample water using an IC scrubber, organic carbon is oxidized and converted to carbon dioxide by adding an oxidant and irradiating with powerful UV rays in a UV reactor. Concentration of the converted carbon dioxide is measured with an infrared analyzer, and the TOC value is obtained from the calibration curve for carbon dioxide and TOC stored beforehand in the signal processing unit.
